How About These Games?

Of course, this article wouldn't be complete without a list of the worst games ever released on Nintendo consoles, as well as the worst use of a Nintendo license. For the NES, this dubious award goes to Action 52, a pathetic attempt at making a multi-game cart with minimal thought and talent put into the actual creation of its games. The Super NES had Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark to thank for its worst game, while Superman 64 was a waste of plastic and silicon on the N64.

How About These Games?

In the current generation, it is largely agreed that Charlie's Angels (GameCube) should be used as shot glass coasters, while the usual round-up of Olsen Twins and Barbie games were horrid enough to make even little girls with GBAs weep. As always, Nintendo also made the regrettable mistake of allowing the beloved Super Mario Bros. franchise to be made into a movie by a studio clearly staffed with half-witted monkeys who've undergone numerous horrific scientific experiments. Seriously, would you ever, even in some sort of drug-induced haze, imagine a real life Koopa looking like the ones in the film?

From Boom To Bust

In all, Nintendo is at a crucial point. After a number of blunders and mistakes, it's gone from top hog to Vienna sausage. Even its handheld superiority is in jeopardy with the release of the PSP. The GBA is starting to show its age and the DS is just beginning to reach its potential. With the excitement brewing over the Revolution and its innovative design, functionality, and simplicity, only time will tell if it can once again reclaim its crown as the reigning king of the console market. Happy 20th anniversary! Just don't disappoint us again.
